Work Experience
Projects - 2019/2020
- Short-length Movie (preproduction, production and post-production) - for this project me and my team came up together with a concept that was developed into a script for a 5-minute production that we later shot, edit and premiered. For the preproduction stage, I was in the roles of Team Leader which meant that I had to organise a Team Contract, facilitate team meetings, arrange feedback sessions with supervisors, create planning and most importantly make sure the team was well-informed and motivate. For the production and post-production stage, I was in the role of the director - which meant that I was in charge of adapting the script, creating a storyboard and communicating with both the Production Designer and the DOP of the project in regards to how each scene is supposed to look and feel; as well as casting the actors and directing them during the shooting days; in the post-production phase I worked with the Editor to make certain that everything was of the best possible quality. Another responsibility of mine was to arrange photoshoot days for the poster as well as creating the trailer - because of the COVID -19 situation this project got postponed and for the first stage the poster and the trailer were done with illustrations made by me with the use of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Digital and interactive children's book - for this project, a team of 4 had to develop a story concept and create visuals to it. The end product being, of course, a digital book in a pdf format. For this project I was in the role of Visual Manager and Manager's assistance - thus I took care not only of the creations of the imaginary part of the book ( with the use of Adobe Photoshop, Wacom drawing tablet, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign) but also of the documentation of the meeting minutes, agenda's and any other administrative documentation that this project required.
Projects - 2020/2021
- Application Proposal for HUB.nl - For this project, I was in charge of creating an interactive digital prototype for the App. To ensure the best quality I completed two courses on LinkedIn Learning (with a certificate) on creating a prototype with Adobe XD and now I am well-versed on how to create prototypes with high fidelity that make use of UI interfaces. For this skill of mine, I received an endorsement from my lecturer.
- Short Form Drama Development (preproduction) - for this project my team and me had to create a Production Bible for a 3 episode drama series, each episode with a length of 5 minutes. I was again in charge of the visuals and thus was tasked with creating a storyboard - with Photoshop and drawing tablet; I was the main collaborator in developing the script and the overall design and layout of the Bible. Another part of this project was creating a Marketing Plan for which I was in charge of covering the Segmentation part.
- PromoKit - this project is connected with the 'Short Form Drama Development' and it entailed us to create a promotional campaign for at least three social media platforms, as well as a press release, direct mail and a partnership proposal. Here I made use of marketing techniques for social media interaction on the platforms of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Creating different types of "hashtags" and engaging posts that will further convince our "partner" alongside the partnership proposal.
- KruijtzerTREND Eyes Corporate Movie
For this project I was the Producer thus I was the organizer, coordinator and team leader. The project was for the external client JOSHI eyewear (Kruijtzer TREND EYES Company). They wanted us to create a BTS themed short movie to showcase to their current and potential clients what their brads is about and how they operate. We were met with a couple of complications in regards to the COVID-19 restrictions for AV productions in the Netherlands but at the end, we managed to provide a final product that I and the team were proud of and it satisfied the client\’s expectations. During this project I learned how to operate inside the interface of Adobe After Effects – specifically when removing wires, working with green screen and shaky footage.
About me
My name is Boyana Tosheva and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Currently in my second year of Creative Business at Breda University of Applied Sciences. I enjoy various activities like drawing and doing yoga. Among my interests is creating something that brings joy to someone else. Being “the man behind the curtain” has become my dream for the last couple of years. I discovered this dream of mine while working on a different types of production and media oriented
projects. Being creative is something that in my opinion everyone is capable of, but many people struggle with visualizing and applying their ideas – something that I have manage to do because of my
mother. She is an artist – she has a master’s degree from the Academy for Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, and she is one of my inspirations. She taught me that everything you think of can be materialized into the real world if you have the determination to make it happen.
